Here's a packing checklist you can print out. PACKING LIST.
While packing for a trip abroad is very individualized and highly subjective here are some general guidelines to bear in mind while packing.
• Storage space on a boat is very limited, no “hard” suitcases, canvas ‘duffle-style’ only. You may also want to have a waterproof day pack or hand bag for dinghy trips to shore
• You will have no personal access to electricity on the boat
• Conserving water is of the utmost importance
• Anything can potentially get wet
• You will be exposed to the elements (sun, wind, sea spray)
• Even on hot days, evenings/nights can be chilly on a boat
• International travel often involves long waits in long lines, don’t get mad, bring along anything that will make you more comfortable (including a snack)
• If your luggage were to arrive days late (or not at all) what items could you manage without? These automatically go in your “carry-on”
• Though we have a very casual attitude on the boat, our host countries are offended by tourists visiting religious historiical sites in beach attire.
